SAY NO TO BLACK HENNA!!!

I use only 100% natural, pure henna paste I mix myself. Black henna contains PPD, a toxic substance which can create scarring, infection, and other serious health difficulties. Avoid it like the plague!

What is Mehndi?

Click here to watch this video to learn more about henna/mehndi...

Also known as henna, mehndi is a plant grown in parts of Africa and Asia (I most often use Jamila henna imported from Pakistan) and finely ground and sifted into a powder which when mixed into a paste with, lemon juice and high quality essential oils will safely and naturally dye the skin for a week or longer, depending on how the stain is cared for. The paste will dry to a black on the skin within about twenty minutes of application, and a lemon juice/sugar water mix can be applied at this point to enable the dye to further release into the skin. The longer the paste remains on the skin, the deeper the stain will be. Traditionally it is kept on overnight while sleeping and then scraped off the following morning. It is recommended that as little water as possible come in contact with the stain for 12 hours, and that shea butter or other emollients are used to encourage longer life.

Having a henna design applied is a fun and relaxing experience, and a beautiful and unique way to decorate the body.
